The union's leader, Luciano Bose, wonders what kind of benefits Croatia and its fishermen can have from the Ecological and Fisheries Protection Zone, when countries "that have devastated the Adriatic Sea for decades uncontrollably and limitlessly" can continue to do so, now with the blessing of the Croatian government.
The trade union also stated that a recent proposal for a new law on maritime fishing had irritated fishermen who vociferously opposed its adoption.
Bose voices satisfaction with the fact that the government had scrapped the draft and expressed hope that the existing law would be amended to the benefit of fishermen.
