The press release, issued after the High Representative to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Paddy Ashdown said in an interview to the local press that he did not rule out the dissolution of that entity, reads that the "Republic of Srpska is not a gift given by the international community" but an equal participant in the Dayton peace accords which recognised it as an entity in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
"If it is true that the High Representative made such an anti-Dayton statement, it is then an occasion for the Republic of Srpska President to warn him that any attempt to dissolve this entity could lead to a referendum at which the Republic of Srpska would independently make a decision on its further road," read today's press release.
Any attempt to change by force the current organisation of Bosnia-Herzegovina can cause a crisis or even the disintegration of the country, the office of Dragan Covic warns in the release.
