According to an opinion poll, conducted annually by the only Croatian sports daily 'Sportske Novine', out of 398 reporters in 58 editorial boards covered by the survey this year, 230 voted for Blanka Vlasic, who won the bronze medal at the Budapest World Championships Indoor this year.
The best male athlete is Duje Draganja, who won silver at the Athens Olympic Games this year. He collected 294 votes in the poll.
The best women's team is the national crossbow team (142 votes).
The best men's team is the national handball team that won the gold medal at the Athens Olympic Games (394 votes).
The ceremony of declaring the best Croatian athletes in 2004 was held in Zagreb on Sunday.
