BELGRADE, Dec 9 (Hina) - Just hours before the start of a European
League basketball match between Partisan Belgrade and Cibona VIP Zagreb,
central Belgrade was plastered with posters on Thursday featuring Partizan
basketball player Milan Gurovic and posters of the umbrella organisation of
sports supporters "The Family of Serbian Supporters" and the right-wing
organisation "Obraz" (Face).Last month the Croatian police banned Gurovic from entering the country
because of an image of World War Two Chetnik Movement leader and convicted war
criminal Draza Mihailovic tattooed on his left upper arm.
The Gurovic posters bore the inscription "SrbIN", a play on words
suggesting the player's ethnic background and the idea that it is "in" to be
Serb.
The daily "Glas javnosti" said in its Thursday edition that tickets for
the match had been sold out quickly, and that the current Croatian basketball
champions could expect "hell" in front of a 7,000-strong crowd in the Pionir
Sports Hall.
