Ivanic, who resigned after Republika Srpska Prime Minister Dragan Mikerevic did the same on Friday, is expected to make an official statement later today. Mikerevic resigned after High Representative Paddy Ashdown imposed sanctions on the Bosnian Serb entity.
Ivanic, who is also the president of the Democratic Progress Party (PDP), resigned after the United State administration denied visas to PDP and Serb Democratic Party (SDS) officials. The United States decision will be in force until the Bosnian Serb entity establishes full cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY).
