ZAGREB, Dec 16 (Hina) - The Croatian Interior Ministry has no information nor has it received any request from the Office of the State Prosecutor to investigate allegations on the involvement of cars from the Office of the President in the abduction of General Vladimir Zagorec's teenage son, the spokesman for the ministry, Zlatko Mehun said on Thursday evening.

Earlier today presidential candidate Slaven Letica told a news conference that Chief State Prosecutor Mladen Bajic should "investigate why two cars from the Office of the President were involved in the abduction".

Mehun energetically refused any possibility that either cars or members of the personnel of the interior ministry and its special security duties department had ever been engaged in any such event like the abduction.

The spokesman added that all who might have other information were obliged to present it to relevant bodies of authority.

General Zagorec's son was abducted on 23 February this year when his kidnappers asked from his father a ransom of one and a half million euros. Zagorec paid a half of the sum, and after they noticed that the police might traced them the kidnappers freed the boy a few days later.
