Kosor collected 92,000 signatures of people supporting her candidacy. "We decided to stop at this number," she told reporters.
Asked whether she expected to win the presidential election in the first or the second round, Kosor replied: "I will be realistic, in the second round."
Kosor submitted her candidacy accompanied by the largest escort of all the candidates. Among some 100 followers were HDZ, Government and Parliament leaders headed by Prime Minister Ivo Sanader and Parliament Speaker Vladimir Seks.
The HDZ candidate was also offered support by prominent athletes and pop singers.
Kosor runs in the presidential race under the slogan "To me, people are more important than politics".
