ZAGREB, Dec 10 (Hina) - The Croatian Helsinki Committee on Human Rights (HHO) on Friday presented three annual awards for outstanding contribution to and protection of human rights on the occasion of International Human Rights Day.

In the category of state officials and politicians, Hrvatska Kostajnica Mayor Davor Govorcinovic was given the Miko Tripalo Award for his outstanding contribution to the return and equal assistance to Croats and Serbs.

Feral Tribune weekly journalist Luka Brailo received the Josko Kulusic Award for his contribution to the protection of human rights through the media.

Freelance reporter Helena Puljiz received the Aleksandra Zec Charter, which is given to victims of political violence as a sign of solidarity from civil society. The charter given to Puljiz, however, says she receives it because the violation of her human rights prompted her to action for the common good.

The HHO award for interreligious tolerance was not presented this year.
