In a declaration sent to Croatian President Stjepan Mesic, Prime Minister Ivo Sanader and the Helsinki Committee, the protesters requested that Boskovski be granted provisional release and a just trial in keeping with Croatia's judiciary. Should Boskovski remain in prison, protests will continue not only in Skopje but outside Croatia's embassy in countries where Macedonians and Croats live.
The protest was staged following a decision by the County court in the northern Adriatic town of Pula that Boskovski's detention be prolonged for another three months even though none of the witnesses confirmed that Boskovski was involced in the Rastanska Lozja case.
Boskovski, former Macedonian interior minister, is suspected of having organised and commanded the execution of six Pakistani citizens and one Indian in the spring of 2002.
