Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Government spokesman Jernej Pavlin declined to reveal the position the Slovene representatives would take with regard to setting a date for the start of membership talks with Croatia, citing the confidential nature of the document. He said that the debate on the matter was "lengthy and exhaustive".
The Government's positions are expected to be discussed by the parliamentary committees on foreign and European affairs on Friday.
Rupel said at a press conference on Wednesday that Slovenia wanted Croatia's entry talks with the EU to start as soon as possible and that the adjustment of Croatia to European standards would also benefit Slovenia.
