Kosor was speaking to the press during the collection of signatures for her presidential candidacy in Zagreb.
Among the signatures were those of PM and Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) leader Ivo Sanader, Government ministers, members of Parliament, and members of the ruling party's Presidency.
Answering reporters' questions about Bujas' suicide, the HDZ presidential candidate said the public and the media showed interest in people with PTSP only when a tragedy occurred.
Kosor said she had been pointing to this fact since coming into office, and that she informed Parliament that 1,366 war veterans suffering from the disorder had committed suicide but that nobody showed any interest. She added her ministry strongly supported war veterans suffering from PTSP.
Before the collection of signatures in Zagreb's central square, Kosor presented children of war veterans who were killed or went missing in the 1990s war with gifts. She said the new law on war veterans' rights would provide them and their caretakers with the dignified lives they deserved.
