ZAGREB, Nov 25 (Hina) - Zagreb Trade Fair Director Davorin Spevec has been elected a member of the Board of Directors of the International Trade Fair Union (UFI) at the organisation's 71st annual congress, which is taking place in Bangkok from November 14 to 27.

The UFI promotes the global trade fair industry through 275 member organisations in 71 countries. The organisation was founded in Paris in 1925 and one of the founders was the Zagreb Trade Fair.

The Zagreb Trade Fair hosted UFI congresses in 1959 and 1979, and is one of the candidates for the next congress, which is due to take place in 2009 when the Zagreb Trade Fair celebrates its 100th anniversary.
