The Croatian Centre for Search and Rescue at Sea informed the Croatian ministry that the Italian boat separated from a group of four fishing boats and fired four shots at the Croatian boat, which was sailing on the Pescara-Split line. A window on the Croatian ship was smashed.
The ship tried to return to Pescara but was informed that the harbour was full. Given that no one was hurt and the damage was minor, the Croatian ship resumed sailing towards Split, where it is expected around 0900 hours.
In its note, the Croatian Foreign Ministry protested against the use of weapons and asked for an explanation and that the facts be established.
