LONDON, Nov 9 (Hina) - More than 190,000 British tourists will visit Croatia this year and they will realise 950,000 overnights stays, which is 25 and 32 percent respectively more than in 2003 and all estimates say that 10-15% more tourist could come from Great Britain to Croatia in 2005.

Those assessments were made by the director of the Croatian National Tourism Board's (HTZ) Main Office, Niko Bulic, at a news conference held as part of the 25th World Travel Market which is being held in London on November 8-11.

Bulic says that over the past several years Croatia has been recognised as an attractive tourist destination on the British tourist market. Britons are particularly interested in small family-run hotels, rural and culture tourism and other "special" tourist products.

Speaking about strategic objectives of Croatia's tourism, Bulic said Croatia did not want to become a country of mass tourism or repeat the mistakes of its competition when it came to overbuilding the coast, but it wanted to develop the quality and preserve the origins of the Mediterranean offer.

The news conference was attended by some 40 reporters and travel agents. Also present at the conference were Croatian State Secretary in charge of tourism Zdenko Micic, Assistant Tourism Minister Zelimir Kramaric and Croatian Ambassador in London Josko Paro.
