ZAGREB, Oct 27 (Hina) - Croatian authorities are intensively working on checking data on the killing of Croatian truck driver Dalibor Burazovic in the Iraqi city of Mosul, after his sister, Daliborka Soljic, said she was certain that he was dead according to the photos she had seen. Several consular offices are engaged in efforts to establish the truth about the destiny of another Croatian truck driver, who has reportedly been arrested in Iraq, the co-ordinator of the Foreign Ministry's task force set up to investigate the latest developments in Iraq, Vinko Ljubicic, told Hina on Wednesday evening.

Burazovic's sister contacted the Croatian Foreign Ministry and asked for the possibility of arranging the transfer of her brother's body to Croatia, Ljubicic said, adding that he still could not officially confirm the information on the death of the Croatian citizen in Mosul on Saturday, when a convoy of trucks was attacked by terrorists. There were 12 Croatian trucks in the convoy.

"The ministry still has no official information, and we have been in contact with the Polish Embassy in Baghdad as well as with the Croatian Embassy in Washington and the Iraqi office in Ankara," the ministry's official said.

The Jutarnji List daily reports in its issue of Thursday that Americans have arrested Croatian driver Damir Mikulic on suspicion of espionage in Iraq.

According to the paper, Mikulic was taken into custody two weeks ago when Americans caught him filming U.S. bases and the route of his convoy. The Jutarnji List quotes the owner of the haulier company for which Mikulic is working as saying he hopes that Americans will soon release the driver "who only wanted to give the recording to reporters because he wants to become a reporter himself".

Ljubicic told Hina that information on the driver's arrest was being checked and could not be confirmed yet.
