ZAGREB, Oct 26 (Hina) - A task force consisting of 12 border police representatives from Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Slovenia, Hungary and the German Interior Ministry in charge of visa regimes and criteria for crossing borders, began a meeting in Valbandon near the northern Adriatic city of Pula on Tuesday.

The purpose of the meeting, held within the 12th international border police conference, is to facilitate movement across state borders and draw up recommendations for simpler and more coordinated border procedures.

Zlatko Miletic of the Croatian Interior Ministry's Border Administration said the participants would adopt recommendations for an international conference of border police, to be held next year in Hungary.

Some of the recommendations suggest that countries in the region facing illegal migrations and border entries should adjust their visa regimes to the EU visa regime as well as harmonise certain border procedures so as to avoid unnecessary border delays.

The meeting ends tomorrow.
