According to preliminary information, Bozovic committed suicide by hanging and his body was discovered near a village in the area of Rudo, a town in eastern Bosnia.
The 50-year Bozovic, who was born in that part of Bosnia-Herzegovina, was held missing since August 22, when he left his apartment in Belgrade.
At the time of his disappearance, he was assistant director of the Serbian Interior Ministry's police administration and had a rank of police colonel. The Serbian media reported that he had participated in and commanded some of Serbian police operations in Kosovo.
