Delo newspaper ran a piece headlined "Cry for Help in Dispute with Slovenia," which quotes Zuzul as saying after meeting European Commissioner for External Relations Chris Patten that Croatia and Slovenia do not have big issues, just disputes stemming from the time of Socialist Yugoslavia.
Delo also quoted Zuzul as saying he is favour of the application of conclusions of international arbitration which would be resorted to if said disputes could not be settled in a friendly manner.
Slovene Radio and Television's Brussels correspondent asked Zuzul how he viewed Slovene Foreign Minister Ivo Vajgl's address to the European Union Council of Ministers the day before. The Croatian minister said he was surprised by the address, which he labelled unnecessary and excessive.
Slovene media put the coverage of Zuzul's visit to Brussels and Croatian-Slovene relations in the context of Croatia's EU integration process, highlighting difficulties caused by the latest assessments by the chief prosecutor with the U.N. war crimes tribunal in The Hague, Carla dal Ponte.
