Zuzul, who is currently on a three-day visit to Finland, met Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja, Parliament Speaker Paavo Lipponen and State Secretary for European Union Affairs Antti Peltomaeki.
Zuzul said that Croatia had met the political criteria for EU membership, that major reform of the justice system was under way and that the country was fully cooperating with the Hague war crimes tribunal. He underlined the importance of assessing individual achievements of each candidate country.
Zuzul said that Croatia would continue maintaining good relations with all neighbouring countries and serve as a positive example to other countries in the region.
He also said that relying on the experience of Finland and other EU member states, Croatia would be capable of completing the accession talks within two years.
Minister Tuomioja proposed that a Finnish Parliament delegation visit Croatia in order to relay Finland's experience in joining the EU. He said that there was firm and well-coordinated cooperation among the head of state, the Parliament and the Government in maintaining EU standards in Finland, which ensured a full agreement of political views and control of activities.
After the meeting, Zuzul delivered a talk on "A Croatian Vision of Europe in 2010" in front of Finnish government ministers, diplomats, journalists, representatives of universities and business people.
On Friday afternoon, the Croatian delegation visited the headquarters of the Nokia Corporation. The delegation is due back in Croatia on Saturday, the statement said.
