"Croatia will support every legal and legitimate solution which Montenegrin citizens opt for," Mesic said in response to the question how he sees Montenegro's independence or its separation from Serbia.
Speaking of Croatia's relations with Serbia and Montenegro, Mesic said a big step forward had been made and that bilateral contacts had intensified, which he added was a strong message to citizens that the two countries could solve their issues alone.
Underlining the importance of settling the issue of the border on the Danube, Mesic said it was necessary to apply European standards, namely facilitate border area traffic and border crossing and withdraw the army from the border.
Mesic also highlighted the importance of shedding light on persons gone missing during the 1990s war.
