FORMER BOSNIAN SERB ARMY INTELLIGENCE CHIEF SURRENDERS TO ICTY

ZAGREB, Oct 10 (Hina) - Ljubisa Beara, a former Bosnian Serb armyintelligence chief indicted by the UN war crimes tribunal in TheHague, surrendered to Serbian authorities on Saturday evening and hewill be handed over to the tribunal, the government in Belgrade saidin a statement.
ZAGREB, Oct 10 (Hina) - Ljubisa Beara, a former Bosnian Serb army intelligence chief indicted by the UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague, surrendered to Serbian authorities on Saturday evening and he will be handed over to the tribunal, the government in Belgrade said in a statement.

Beara is charged on the basis of his individual criminal responsibility with genocide, violations of the laws and customs of war, and crimes against humanity in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

According to the government statement, Beara was expected to leave for The Hague last night in the company of Serbian Justice Minister Zoran Stojkovic.
