ZAGREB, Oct 5 (Hina) - The chief prosecutor with the war crimes
tribunal in The Hague, Carla del Ponte, will tell European Union foreign
ministers on Monday that Croatia has not progressed much in cooperation with
the U.N. tribunal, the BBC said in a Croatian language broadcast on Tuesday,
quoting diplomatic sources in Brussels. The BBC said that next Monday, del Ponte would address EU officials in
Luxembourg and answer their questions. It recalled that in the past, del
Ponte's addresses were accompanied by speculation about her reports to the U.N.
Security Council and were also used as additional pressure on countries whose
cooperation with the tribunal was covered by the reports.
The BBC said that del Ponte's spokeswoman Florence Hartmann declined to
comment on information about what the chief prosecutor would say next week.
