The SABA leader, Ivan Fumic, told the association's presidency at a session in Zagreb on Thursday that despite statements by Deputy Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor who during a meting with SABA representatives in July pledged support to this WWII veterans association, no material assistance had been given to SABA so far.
Fumic also complained that Prime Minister Ivo Sanader had not shown any wish to meet them.
Fumic recalled the position of the World Veterans Association, of which SABA and some Homeland War veterans' associations are members, that all veterans should be treated equally.
He welcomed the incumbent government's position to treat anti-Fascism as a universal value and the Sanader cabinet's resolve in removing monuments erected to Nazi-styled Ustasha government officials Jure Francetic and Mile Budak.
