Present at the signing was Croatian President Stjepan Mesic, who urged the officials attending the ceremony to continue caring for Croatian values and to promote them in neighbouring countries.
The Hungarian seat of the Mura-Drava Euroregion is in Zala Egerszeg, while Croatia's is in Cakovec.
The objectives of today's agreement are cooperation in the economy, culture, education, environmental protection, and between ethnic communities.
After the signing, President Mesic held talks with farmers' representatives from Medjimurje County. He said he would advocate the encouragement of agriculture not only in this county all over Croatia.
