During the meeting, the Croatian Chamber of the Economy (HGK) signed a cooperation agreement with the Federation of Producers of the Malaysian province of Sabah and the Sabah Chamber of Commerce.
The HGK Assistant Director for International Cooperation, Biserka Paukovic, said that there were numerous possibilities of economic cooperation, particularly in the tourist industry.
The Minister of Industrial Development of Sabah Province, Datuk Ewon Ebin, said that the agreement signed today could serve as a starting point for the development of economic cooperation between the two countries.
According to figures from the National Bureau of Statistics, last year Croatian exports to Malaysia totalled 8.14 million US dollars, while imports amounted to 44.25 million. In the first half of 2004, exports stood at 577,000 US dollars, while imports reached nearly 17 million.
