ZAGREB, Sept 29 (Hina) - Croatian war veterans' associations have reached a high level of agreement with the Ministry of Family and War Veterans' Affairs and Intergenerational Solidarity on a new bill regulating the rights of Croatian Homeland War veterans and their families.

This was said by the head of the umbrella organisation of war veterans' associations, General Djuro Decak, and War Veterans' Affairs Minister Jadranka Kosor, at a joint press conference after the meeting on Wednesday.

Decak said that the law would be applicable to not more than 13,500 people, rather than 600,000 as claimed by "irresponsible media".

The government will discuss the bill next week at a session that will take place in the northern Adriatic resort town of Porec, government spokesman Ratko Macek told reporters later.

Under discussion at tomorrow's session of the government will be a number of bills from the package of laws to be harmonised with European Union legislation, Macek said.
