ZAGREB, Sept 23 (Hina) - The Croatian Police Trade Union (SPH) said ina statement on Thursday it supported the conduct of police officersduring yesterday's incident caused by Slovene citizens at theCroatian-Slovene border crossing of
Plovanija and stressed that byabiding by law they showed that Croatia was a country based on therule of law.
ZAGREB, Sept 23 (Hina) - The Croatian Police Trade Union (SPH) said
in a statement on Thursday it supported the conduct of police officers during
yesterday's incident caused by Slovene citizens at the Croatian-Slovene border
crossing of Plovanija and stressed that by abiding by law they showed that
Croatia was a country based on the rule of law."The SPH supports police officers who acted in line with their legal
jurisdiction under the law on police forces and other legal regulations of the
Republic of Croatia on Wednesday when they used their authority and respected
the Croatian legal system (in an encounter with) several Slovene citizens on
the Croatian-Slovene border crossing of Plovanija," the union said in a
statement.
The union stressed that the police showed that Croatia was a law-based
country.
