The protest, which was organised by the Croatian Telecommunications Workers Union, was joined by the Croatian Post and Telecommunications (HPT) Workers Union and the Independent HPT Union from Split.
HPT Workers Union leader Josip Pupic announced the start of talks with the HT management on workers who have already been laid off and who Pupic claims have not been treated fairly by the management.
After these negotiations, talks will start on the announced lay-offs, he said.
"If no agreement is reached, HT employees will go on a general strike," Pupic said.
No incidents were reported at the protest rally.
