The document says that the two parties will support one another in local and provincial elections in Vojvodina and that the DSHV will support SVM candidate Geza Kucsera for the post of mayor of Subotica.
The SVM and the DSHV have been in power in the municipality of Subotica since the first multiparty elections in Serbia in 1992.
At the moment the DSHV has 13 representatives in the Subotica Municipal Council, but has no deputies to the Vojvodina Assembly. According to estimates, the party could win up to seven seats in the Subotica Council, several seats in Sombor and Apatin and one seat in the provincial assembly.
Elections for the local councils and the provincial assembly are scheduled for September 19.
