PODGORICA, Sept 3 (Hina) - President of the Union of Serbia and Montenegro Svetozar Marovic and Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic are on the list of 1,600 persons called by former Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic to appear as witnesses at his trial before the UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague, the media in the Montenegrin capital Podgorica reported on Monday.

Sinisa Vucinic, who was described by the daily Dan as one of the people helping Milosevic, told this newspaper that Marovic and Djukanovic were called because at the time of the war in the former Yugoslavia they had filled government posts and closely cooperated with Milosevic.

Vucinic added that there was a possibility of the two officials refusing to testify.

Djukanovic had earlier said that he would not testify in The Hague unless he was officially summoned by the tribunal.

Media reports said that former Montenegrin president Momir Bulatovic was also supposed to appear at the trial, already in mid-September. Bulatovic was quoted as saying that he had expected the call and that he would be glad to respond to it and testify.
