"Ever since Rumsfeld used the term (the New Europe) in another context, we have started to avoid it," International Commercial Advertising Festival director Jure Apih said at a press conference in Ljubljana on Tuesday.
"We do not want to be the New Europe in Rumsfeld's sense of the word although entire Europe became a new Europe after May 1," Apih said, announcing that the advertising festival "The Golden Drum" would be held in the Slovene Adriatic resort town of Portoroz next month.
Rumsfeld used the term the New Europe before the US military intervention in Iraq to denote countries, excluding Germany and France, that supported the American and British position on the Iraqi crisis.
