Seks said today the claims in the article were taken out of the context of the interview he granted the newspaper, and that they did not correspond to either the truth or his words.
"Contrary to speculation that the HDZ won't have a presidential candidate, I said in the interview that raising this question was too early for the HDZ and that we would define a clear position on the matter soon."
Seks added the HDZ was the strongest political party in Croatia and that in line with this, he said in the interview the party would precisely decide which member stood the best chance of doing well in the presidential ballot.
Seks said his answer to the Jutarnji List reporter's question if it was possible that the HDZ would not nominate a presidential candidate was, "I'm not saying that".
