According to a statement issued by the Croatian government public relations office, the Portuguese officials said Portugal, as a member of NATO and the European Union, would fully support Croatia's joining the EU and NATO as soon as possible. He also stressed Croatia was an important factor for the stability in Europe, stressing that his country wanted to intensify relations with Croatia in the defence sector and support Croatia's initiatives aimed at stabilising the region.
Kosor thanked the Portuguese minister on his country's support to Croatia's aspirations. She also said Croatia was carrying out comprehensive reforms which would enable the country's admission to Euro-Atlantic associations.
She stressed Croatia and Portugal did not have outstanding issues and added Croatia wanted to advance its economic cooperation with Portugal.
