ZAGREB, Aug 6 (Hina) - Bulgaria and Croatia are stability factors in south-eastern Europe, Bulgarian President Georgy Parvanov said on Friday during his talks with Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader in Sofia.

A joint European future, Bulgaria's support to Croatia on the road towards Euro-Atlantic institutions and economic and cultural cooperation were the main topics of the Parvanov-Sanader talks, the Croatian government's public relations office reported in a press release.

Earlier in the day, PM Sanader met for talks with his Bulgarian counterpart Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and Bulgarian parliament chairman Ognyan Gerdzhikov.

PM Sanader told a news conference in Sofia that he hoped that Zagreb would complete entry talks with the European Union by summer 2007, according to the AFP news agency. The AFP quoted Bulgarian PM Saxe-Coburg-Gotha as saying that Croatia "can count on Bulgaria's support in the process of coming closer to the European Union and NATO".

Bulgaria and another former six Communist countries were admitted to NATO in April this year, and this Balkan country is expected, together with its neighbour Romania, to become a full member of the EU in 2007.
