The Croatian note drew attention to violations of the state border in northern Adriatic's Savudrija Bay which took place on July 30 and August 2. The note also underlined that Croatia stuck by its position that all disputes should be settled in the European spirit, through the strengthening of mutual trust and good neighbourly relations in accordance with international law.
Silobrcic confirmed that the Croatian-Slovene commission for border area traffic and cooperation would convene in Slovenia on Friday to discuss all aspects of navigation in Savudrija Bay.
According to a Slovene Foreign Ministry statement, the meeting is aimed at finding a solution which would extend a fisheries code in the sea border area. The code was endorsed two years ago by the two countries' then prime ministers to avert incidents which had been occurring due to the nonexistence of a sea border accord.
