LJUBLJANA, Aug 7 (Hina) - Fossilised traces of a reptile, which isbelieved to have been a forerunner of dinosaurs and which lived 200million years ago, were discovered on private premises near the townof Idrija, Slovenia, the national
television reported on Fridaynight.
LJUBLJANA, Aug 7 (Hina) - Fossilised traces of a reptile, which is
believed to have been a forerunner of dinosaurs and which lived 200 million
years ago, were discovered on private premises near the town of Idrija,
Slovenia, the national television reported on Friday night.Slovene geologists have established that the Zalarjev Vrh excavation
site near the village of Godovic dates back to the Trias period and local
authorities are planning to protect the area and make it possible for
archaeologists and visitors to tour it.
"Traces we have found out indicate that an animal, which was a
forerunner of dinosaurs, namely a two-leg reptile large as the human being
moved in the area. It had the long tail. In the muds which used to be here, it
left traces of its legs," said professor Joze Car.
