The ambassador said that Croatia was an ally of Great Britain in NATO and that he hoped that Croatia would be engaged in a humanitarian operation in Libya when the time for that came.
Croatian Defence Minister Davor Bozinovic, who together with Ambassador Blunt opened an exhibition in Varazdin, thanked Great Britain for being a staunch advocate of EU enlargement.
Asked by reporters to comment on Blunt's statement about Croatia's possible engagement in Libya, the minister recalled that being a NATO member, Croatia voted for the alliance's operation in that north African country.
"At this moment, however, there is no need in NATO for Croatia's more concrete engagement in Libya," Bozinovic said, adding that Croatia would continue following the developments in that country and consider the possibility of its engagement accordingly.
