UNDP continues implementing its programmes in Croatia

ZAGREB, April 1 (Hina) - Croatia's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Gordan Jandrokovic on Friday received the United Nations' Assistant Secretary-General and UN Development Programme Regional Bureau Director for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States, Kori Udovicki, for talks on the continuation of the UNDP-managed programmes in Croatia until 2013, the foreign ministry reported.

The minister expressed support for the implementation of the ongoing UNDP programmes.

The UNDP has ensured funds for the establishment of the Centre of Excellence where Croatian diplomats and experts can share the experience from Croatia's European Union negotiating process with officials from other EU aspirants in the region.

Since 1996 when it began operating in Croatia, the UNDP has invested some USD 70 million in various projects in the country.
