The Justice Ministry today declined to say whether it was true that it intended to rescind the institute of ombudswoman for gender equality and ombudswoman for people with disabilities. Sources in the ministry said today the draft of amendments to the Public Ombudsman Act was still an internal document and would later be offered to the public for discussion.
The Office of the Ombudswoman for Gender Equality, which is currently run by Gordana Lukac Koritnik, was established in 2003 and the Ombudswoman for People with Disabilities, currently run by Anka Slosnjak, in 2008.
