ZAGREB, April 27 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic on Tuesday evening received for talks the president of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Ivica Racan, the President's Office said in a statement.

The talks focused on the situation in Croatia and the European
Commission's avis on Croatia's application for EU membership, which
the two officials agreed marked the end of one phase of Croatia's
integration into the EU, which started during the term of the previous
government led by Racan.
Racan was accompanied by members of the SDP presidency Slavko Linic
and Sime Lucin.
