ZAGREB, March 30 (Hina) - The UNHCR actively helped Croatia in efforts to accommodate refugees and displaced persons, and at present its main task is to supervise the situation, Croatian Parliament President Vladimir Seks said at a
meeting with the head of the UNHCR mission, Catherine Bertrand, in Zagreb on Tuesday, the parliament reported.
ZAGREB, March 30 (Hina) - The UNHCR actively helped Croatia in efforts
to accommodate refugees and displaced persons, and at present its main
task is to supervise the situation, Croatian Parliament President
Vladimir Seks said at a meeting with the head of the UNHCR mission,
Catherine Bertrand, in Zagreb on Tuesday, the parliament reported.#L#
Croatia's government is fully committed to the return of the displaced
and refugees, Seks said thanking Bertrand for all the assistance the
UNHCR offered to Croatia.
Bertrand hailed efforts aimed at speeding up the process of refugee
return and voiced satisfaction with the adoption of an adequate legal
framework for its implementation.
She said that the UNHCR and the Inter-Parliamentary Union had recently
published a brochure on the protection of refugees, which will soon be
presented to members of the Croatian parliament.
