ZAGREB, March 25 (Hina) - The Croatian Physicians Union, the Doctors'
Corps and the Doctors' Chamber issued a joint statement on Thursday
saying that they supported the activities of the incumbent Health and
Social Welfare Minister, Andrija Hebrang.#L#
Following frequent reports in the media that doctors disagree with
Hebrang's actions, the three associations say they support all
activities aimed at rendering hospitals more cost-effective, having
responsible management and legal control of fund-spending to the
benefit of patients and employees in the public health sector.
The three associations also commended the government, the Health
Ministry, Minister Hebrang and his assistants for their treatment of
the said associations.
The association of doctors who were volunteers in the Homeland Defence
War on Thursday also stated that it supported Minister Hebrang. This
association refuted as untrue claims that the incumbent government was
planning to dismiss directors of hospitals out of revenge.
