ZAGREB, March 24 (Hina) - Two police officers were killed and another two as well as a translator were wounded when a fire was opened at their car in the village of Sajkovac near Podujevo, north-east Kosovo, the commander of the
Kosovo police, Sheremet Ahmeti said on Tuesday night.

One of the victims was was a Philippine policeman, a member of
international police troops and the other was a local officer, said a
spokesman for the police forces, Derek Chappel on Wednesday.
He added that the incident had happened at about 22:00 hrs Tuesday at
the Pristina-Podujevo road when unknown attackers in a speeding car
opened fire at the UN car of the police officers on duty.
No other incident was reported and the situation in Kosovo was calm.
The police of the UN Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), local police units and
the NATO-led international peace-keepers (KFOR) have launched and
intensive investigation in the case, said Ahmeti.
