ZAGREB, March 22 (Hina) - The Programmes Council of Croatian Radio-Television (HRT) on Monday elected Mirko Galic HRT's general director with a four-year term of office.

Radio-Television (HRT) on Monday elected Mirko Galic HRT's general
director with a four-year term of office.#L#
Galic, formely a provisional general director of HRT, received the
support of eight Council members - the minimum required number of
votes - in a second round of voting.
Galic's rival was Petar Turkovic, who received one vote, while one
ballot was invalid.
Other contenders for the post were Bruno Kovacevic, Nikola Kristic,
Dusko Radic and Mato Tomljanovic, who did not receive any votes in the
first round.
