The meeting was also attended by senior officials of the union of
Serbia and Montenegro.
Kostunica told reporters that he had twice discussed today's incidents
with the UN administrator of Kosovo, Harri Holkeri, and conveyed to
him his concern and a resolute request that international peacekeeping
forces protect the Serbs in Kosovo.
"These events show the true nature of Albanian separatism, its
violence," Kostunica said, adding that the safety of Serbs in the
province could be ensured through "a form of territorial autonomy". He
said that the present plan had failed the test.
Kostunica announced that the Supreme Defence Council was meeting on
Thursday to discuss the clashes in Kosovo.
