ZAGREB, March 17 (Hina) - The Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina on Wednesday decided to step up diplomatic and political efforts aimed at ensuring the country's admission into the Partnership for Peace programme at a NATO summit in
Istanbul in June.
ZAGREB, March 17 (Hina) - The Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina on
Wednesday decided to step up diplomatic and political efforts aimed at
ensuring the country's admission into the Partnership for Peace
programme at a NATO summit in Istanbul in June.#L#
The head of the Bosnian Presidency, Sulejman Tihic, said after the
session it was evident that the country was late with meeting
conditions for admission into the Partnership for Peace programme. He
added, however, that it was also evident that the country was ready to
catch up in the next two months.
Senior representatives of the international community in Bosnia last
week forwarded an open letter to the authorities in Sarajevo saying
that falling behind in the implementation of defence reforms could
easily result in withdrawing the already announced invitation for
joining the Partnership for Peace programme.
The only progress made is the appointment of the defence minister,
representatives of the international community said.
