WASHINGTON, March 17 (Hina) - The appointment of Nikola Radovanovic as Bosnia-Herzegovina's first defence minister is an important watershed in Bosnia's transformation from a country with two armies into a sovereign democracy with a single defence system, U.S. State Department spokesman Adam Ereli said on Tuesday, adding that the U.S. was willing to help Bosnia reform its defence system.
WASHINGTON, March 17 (Hina) - The appointment of Nikola Radovanovic as Bosnia-Herzegovina's first defence minister is an important watershed in Bosnia's transformation from a country with two armies into a sovereign democracy with a single defence system, U.S. State Department spokesman Adam Ereli said on Tuesday, adding that the U.S. was willing to help Bosnia reform its defence system.#L# Ereli urged Radovanovic to act fast in carrying out the reform criteria NATO set as imperative for Bosnia to join the Partnership for Peace programme. He stressed the need to fully cooperate with the Hague war crimes tribunal, notably in the extradition of the accused.
