ZAGREB, March 4 (Hina) - The Croatian government on Thursday turned down more than 100 amendments to the draft national budget whereby MPs asked for more money for the building of schools and kindergartens, higher education and the development of information society.#L# Rejecting the amendments seeking funds for the construction and renovation of schools, the state secretary at the education ministry, Nevio Setic, said the 2001 law on the funding of local self-government units stipulated that schools, gymnasia and kindergartens were maintained by cities and municipalities.
