ZAGREB, March 3 (Hina) - The Croatian parliament will adopt the national budget for 2004 on Thursday. Before the vote, representatives of the government will approve or reject 426 amendments submitted by MPs and their clubs.#L# Finance Minister Ivan Suker has already said that most likely not one of the amendments, which total 8.5 billion kuna, will be adopted. He announced the budget would stay within the familiar framework, with revenue amounting to 79.4 billion and expenditure to 84.9 billion kuna. Most amendments, 113, refer to funds set aside for the science ministry, 60 to funds for the ministry of agriculture, 55 to the finance and 38 to the health ministry. Contrary to practice, the national budget was not adopted at the end of last year because 2003 was election year. The state is financed in this year's first quarter on the basis of a decision on provisional financing. Also tomorrow, parliament will adopt the law on the execution of the national budget.
