DRENOVCI, Feb 20 (Hina) - Croatia will get a Food Agency in six weeks' time, and the agency will be an independent body in charge of control of food products, Croatian Agriculture Minister Petar Cobankovic announced in the eastern
town of Drenovci on Friday as a measure aimed at the protection of consumers.

time, and the agency will be an independent body in charge of control
of food products, Croatian Agriculture Minister Petar Cobankovic
announced in the eastern town of Drenovci on Friday as a measure aimed
at the protection of consumers.#L#
He went on to say that this year's budget of the agriculture ministry
remained at the same level as the last year's budget, but subsidies to
farmers increased by 15 percent or by 250 million kuna.
Incentives for the development of rural areas will come to some 40
million kuna in comparison to 12 million which were earmarked for this
purpose last year.
